In honor of April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services hosted a baby shower with proceeds benefiting the 2,000 families who participate in Whitney Young Health’s WIC Program.
Earlier this month, our WIC staff attended the planting of the pinwheels, the national symbol for child abuse prevention, then attended the baby shower where they received hundreds of supplies including baby clothing, diapers, blankets, Safe Sleep Packs, and parenting books.
