It’s that time of year again!
Barnes & Noble at the Colonie Center Mall is hosting their annual holiday book drive, an event in which generous customers donate children’s books to local charities like Whitney Young Health.
The brand-new books are purchased by customers in our local Barnes & Noble store then are donated to Whitney Young Health and other participating local charities. The books are given to WYH pediatric patients at their well-child appointments for them to keep and read at home. They book drive is an effort to encourage literacy in children and inspire them to enjoy reading.
So far, over 1,700 children’s books have been donated and the number has continued to increase. If you’re interested in participating, go to the Barnes & Noble at Colonie Center Mall in Albany. There you can pick out any children’s book in the store, whether it is a picture book or board book for our littlest readers, then bring it with you to the register for purchase and a B&N bookseller will take the book for donation
You can make a book donation up until December 24th.
We hope you will consider making a book donation this holiday season. It’s a great opportunity for children to give the gift of literacy to children this holiday season.
