The holiday season is behind us and a new year is underway, but we are taking one last look back at our successful 2019 Year-End Appeal campaign. Funds raised through this campaign are unrestricted, meaning that the money can be used for any of Whitney Young Health’s programs, however, we chose to spotlight Whitney Young Health’s newest program, Wheels to Whitney, an innovative approach to increasing access to dental care for children.
Almost 48% of children participating in Seal a Smile, our dental hygiene program that operates in 52 schools locally, have untreated dental cavities. With Wheels to Whitney, we provide transportation from schools to our health center locations for children who need appointments for restorative dental work, such as cavity fillings.
We are thrilled to report that through the generosity of our donors, nearly $5,400 was raised for Whitney Young Health’s programs and services -including Wheels to Whitney!
